The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Tips For Betting MLB Interleague Play
By David Chan

Story originally published May 2008. Updated for June 2010.
Interleague play is upon us and whether you’re a supporter of it or not, there’s no denying it adds a different element to the marathon baseball season.

There’s the obvious contrast in styles between American League and National League teams, as well as the vast number of unfamiliar matchups from year to year. So here are a few tips that can help you keep your bankroll intact while some AL pitchers dig out their batting helmets from the bottom of the closet.

AL dominance Is No Fluke

In 2006 the American League posted a .611 winning percentage in interleague play. While the junior circuit cooled off considerably in 2007, it still held a substantial 137-115 (.544) edge. In 2008, the AL was back to its old tricks winning 149 of 252 games and last year it went 138-114 against NL opponents.

This isn’t a short-term trend by any stretch. The AL has won the battle in each of the last six, and eight of the last 10 seasons. It’s simply a case of the AL bats being significantly stronger while the pitching has essentially become a wash. Despite the AL’s apparent dominance, remember that National League teams have still won 217 interleague games over the last two seasons and actually won 22 of 42 games in the first weekend of interleague play earlier this season.

Keep An Eye On The Underdogs

While the home teams have a more pronounced advantage during interleague play, it doesn’t mean you should blindly bet them. With players switching leagues more than ever thanks to the current state of free agency, it isn’t as big of a deal for an American League pitcher to take his hacks over in a National League park. By the same token, the AL teams aren’t the only ones that benefit from having a DH in their lineup. Most NL teams have at least one big bat on their bench that is just itching to fill the role. More often than not oddsmakers will overvalue home teams and that opens the door for us to cash some healthy underdogs.

Let The Runline Be Your Friend

Don’t hesitate to lay the extra run when value presents itself. For whatever reason, we tend to see a higher percentage of lopsided results over the course of interleague play. During the opening weekend of IL action two years ago, 34 of 42 games (81 percent) were decided by at least two runs. I try to avoid laying the extra run with big favorites. Instead I’ll look to turn teams priced in the –110 to –150 range into substantial plus-money payouts by giving the run-and-a-half.

Teams To Watch

It may surprise you to find out that the Oakland A’s are among the leaders for all-time wins in interleague play. At 128-102 they’re just a few percentage points behind the Yankees for the best IL record in baseball. In the NL, it’s the Florida Marlins leading the charge at 120-99. The Baltimore Orioles own the worst record in the American League at 101-128 (although they did go 11-7 in 2008) while the Pittsburgh Pirates pull up the rear in the NL at 71-110.

Here's an odd stat: The Phillies, who have arguably the most AL-like batting order, are 10-29 (including this year's three-game series against the Red Sox) in their last 39 interleague games.

HOT LINES

Friday's Best MLB Bets

Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs (-135)

Things are not going well in the Land of Oz – Ozzie Guillen that is.
With a 26-33 record, the White Sox have publicly stated almost every member of the team is on the trading block. The squad from the Southside of Chicago has greatly underachieved this season and general manager Kenny Williams looks ready to clean house.

“Some changes need to take place. I don't know what and I don't when but some changes need to take place,” Williams said. “Things aren't happening the way that we envisioned and when they don't happen the way you envision you've got to make an adjustment.”

And it’s not just the Sox players that are in hot water. Guillen, whose tense relationship with Williams has been well documented, could find his head under the guillotine at a moment’s notice.

The AL’s league leader in home runs, Paul Konerko, is being courted by teams around MLB as well as veteran catcher A.J. Pierzynski. Chicago is also listening to offers for relief pitchers Bobby Jenks, Matt Thornton, J.J. Putz and Scott Linebrink.

Trade and firing talk is never a good thing for clubhouse chemistry so don’t expect Chicago to extend its winning streak against the cross-town rival Cubs on Friday.

Pick: Chicago Cubs

Los Angeles Angels at Los Angeles Dodgers (-160, 8.5)

Los Angeles is beginning to heat up at this time of the year and its two baseball teams are adding fuel to the fire.

Since June 1, the Dodgers and Angels have been two of the most profitable teams in the majors. The boys in blue have gone 7-2 (+5.15 units) this month while the Halos are 7-3 (+3.57 units) and both teams have put together winning streaks of four games or more.

So how do we make a pick between two clubs playing great ball and surging to the top of their respective divisions? Well, recent history tells us the home team doesn’t hold much of an edge in this series as the visitors have taken five out of the last seven games.

But this rivalry has traditionally played tight, with the margin of victory last season being a minute 1.83 runs per game.

The Dodgers hold the best NL mark in one-run games this season at 15-6, including a 9-1 home record, and that could come in handy in what should be a close, low-scoring affair in this interleague series opener.

Pick: Under

WNBA NEWS AND NOTES
Team Knowledge Before WNBA Odds
By SBG Staff

WNBA odds take in consideration that the WNBA only includes 14 teams, which are divided between two conferences, while the NBA includes 30 teams. Consequently, it is actually relatively easy to familiarize yourself with the WNBA teams and thereby prepare yourself to handicap WNBA lines effectively.

WNBA odds obviously can be handicapped only once you have sufficient knowledge about each team in the league. This reality exists for all types of sports gambling and therefore should be no surprise. However, some prospective gamblers eyeing the WNBA lines may be reluctant to learn all of the information necessary to successfully examine the WNBA odds.

Nevertheless, such gamblers should realize that it really is not extremely difficult to become familiar with the various teams that will be encountered in the WNBA odds. A total of fourteen teams makes the WNBA an especially small league that is actually slightly smaller than either one of the NBA’s two conferences. Therefore, by following a WNBA season from the beginning, you will naturally familiarize yourself with the different teams within just a few weeks and then be prepared to begin examining the WNBA odds.

If you are a new follower of the WNBA looking to familiarize yourself with the teams in order to handicap the WNBA odds, it is a good idea to pay attention to the WNBA odds from the very beginning. Even though you obviously will not be wagering on the WNBA lines at this time, because your knowledge of the teams is too limited, it will be extremely helpful to see how teams perform against the WNBA lines. You may find, for instance, that certain teams tend to frequently win while still failing to cover the WNBA odds, while other teams tend to lose while still covering the WNBA lines. Such insights will not only help familiarize you with the teams, but also with the expectations regarding each team that are reflected in the WNBA odds. By assessing a team’s performance against the WNBA odds you can often gauge the opinions of other handicappers of the WNBA odds and see which teams are enjoying successful seasons against the WNBA odds.

LADY LUCK

Friday's Best WNBA Bets

Los Angeles Sparks at Seattle Storm (-9, 155)

The race in the Western Conference is heating up with the Seattle Storm leading the conference after a big win over Phoenix Sunday. However, things could get interesting if the Los Angeles Sparks can find their form.

Los Angeles grabbed a big win over the Mercury Tuesday, scoring a 92-91 win on a last-second jumper from star forward Candace Parker. That victory snapped a three-game losing skid and has the Sparks feeling confident heading into this matchup with the Storm.

"I think the difference this time was that we had the last defensive stop," Parker told reporters following the win. "We had the toughness to fight back. Every possession matters."

Los Angeles was edged by Seattle, 79-75, in an outdoor game in L.A. last weekend, pushing with the 4-point spread. The average margin of victory between these two teams has been five points over their last five meetings, outside of a lopsided 81-67 Seattle win at the start of the year. That makes Friday’s 9-point number a touch high for WNBA bettors.

Pick: Los Angeles Sparks

Indiana Fever at Connecticut Suns (-3.5, 146.5)

It’s always sunny in Mohegan Sun Arena. At least for the Connecticut Sun, who are a perfect 5-0 at home this season including a 5-0 mark against the spread. The Sun recently took wins over the visiting New York Liberty and San Antonio Silver Stars, holding both opponents to just 68 points.

Connecticut sits at 5-2 on the year, second in the Eastern Conference and credits its success to its depth. The Sun had nine different players on the score sheet in Sunday’s 81-68 win over San Antonio, including 27 points off the bench.

"We have great confidence in everyone," guard Kara Lawson, who joined the team from the defunct Sacramento franchise, told TheDay.com. "It's kind of normal for me to be honest. We were kind of like that at (Sacramento). We played everybody.”

The Sun are sixth in the league in scoring and rank second in team defense, giving up only 72.4 points per game. That number gets smaller inside Mohegan Sun Arena, where opponents average just 68.2 points a visit.

Pick: Connecticut Sun

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
Where The Action Is: Books Breakdown World Cup Betting
By Covers Staff

World Cup 2010 is underway but books have been taking wagers on the tournament since Italy raised the trophy in 2006. We polled three different bookmakers to find out which future plays are drawing the most action.

Which team is drawing the most action to win the World Cup?

“Right now the USA at 50-1 has been seeing a ton of action and is a big loser for us,” said Richard Gardner, Bodog senior oddsmaker.

BetCRIS oddsmaker Shane Catford says the Americans are an equally popular play with his players.

“It’s probably because they’re the sentimental favorites for some of our bettors,” Catford said. “Of course their long odds are attractive too.”

It’s no different for Belmont either.

“In events like the World Cup or the Olympics,” oddsmaker Peter Childs explains, “our bettors bet with their hearts and always like to back the USA. “

Frank Doyle, a betting analyst for SportsInteraction, told us that Italy (+1600) and Germany (+1400) are the two teams outside the top five favorites gathering a good amount action.

“With seven World Cup championships between them (Germany and Italy), you can’t really call them underdogs or longshots,” Doyle said.

The favorites getting the most action to hoist the FIFA trophy are Brazil, Spain, England and Argentina. The Netherlands are also a popular play with a few books.

There’s been a rash of player injuries to several contending teams. Which one (if any) affected your odds the most?

Just about every oddsmaker we contacted mentioned Germany’s loss of midfielder Michael Ballack. But the former Chelsea standout was ruled out of the World Cup almost a month ago.

More recently, Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba fractured his elbow and his status for his team’s first match vs. Portugal is still up in the air.

“Drogba's injury has been the only injury that has really changed anything, moving the Ivory Coast’s outright odds from 33-1 to 50-1,” Gardner said.

Meanwhile Catford says Portugal opened as +145 favorites but are now at +110 with Drogba’s availability in question.

The talented Dutch are always a popular pick because of their goal-scoring prowess but one oddsmaker cautions bettors not to forget a key injury for the team.

“Arjen Robben's hamstring is a major injury for the Netherlands,” Childs said. “He's arguably one of the top 10 players in the world and if he can't go versus Denmark, the odds will

most definitely be impacted. Netherlands are currently -200 favorites, so expect that number to go down if he's a no-go in the opener.”

Doyle said none of his book’s markets were affected by player injuries but he does mention another absence that shouldn’t be ignored.

“The country most affected by injury, I would say, is Ghana, which has to do without Michael Essien. He’s a huge loss to them.”

Which prop bet on the World Cup has been your most popular one so far?

David Villa, who was the leading scorer at Euro 2008, is the favorite to win the Golden Boot at the World Cup.

Every bookie pegged top goal scorer as their customers preferred prop bet.

Bodog reports David Villa, their favorite at +700, is drawing the most action. SIA reports the same but Doyle suggests Italy forward Alberto Gilardino has good value at +3300.

BetCRIS says Lionel Messi (+850) is getting the most action but there’s also a large group supporting Netherlands striker Robin Van Persie at +950.

Which games and teams are the most popular plays in the tournament’s first few days?

“As much as people are backing the USA to win it all, they’re also betting them at +450 to beat England in the much anticipated Saturday afternoon matchup,” Childs said.

Outside of the marquee match on Saturday, Doyle said Argentina taking care of Nigeria and France besting Uruguay are both widely bet results at his book.

PICKS FOR KICKS

Friday’s Best World Cup Bets

The World Cup is a month-long event with matches on a daily basis. Obviously, we here in the Covers.com newsroom are degenerates who can’t let a day go by without getting in on the action.

Here are our favorite plays for Day 1 of the World Cup.

South Africa (+187) vs. Mexico (+120)

In case you hadn’t heard, South Africans stink at soccer. They didn’t qualify for the last African Nations Cup and the only reason they’re playing with the big boys here is because they’re the host country.

So while many conspiracy theorists will argue that no hosting nation has ever failed to advance past the group stage, we argue that no host nation has ever been as pitiful as South Africa.

Mexico are a world power and always do well at the group stage. They’ve got the speed on the wings and a steady back line led by Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez.

Tri El lost friendly matches to England (3-1) and Netherlands (2-1) after besting the defending World Cup champs Italy earlier this month.

“I am bothered that we lost,” Mexico manager Javier Aguirre told the Los Angeles Times after the setback to England. “I’m not going to make excuses. But I am satisfied with some things. We showed confidence, character, personality.”

Aguirre won’t have to make excuses after his side thrashes the host country Friday.

Pick: Mexico

Uruguay (+260) vs. France (-111)

An injury scare to Diego Forlan nearly took the wind out of Uruguay’s sails but all signs suggest the star striker is fit and will be on the pitch for Friday’s match against France.

Both Uruguay and France’s qualification for the World Cup came down to the wire. Forlan’s side needed a playoff game against Coast Rica while Les Bleus only joined the party after Thierry Henry's famous helping hand.

Still, traditional power France are the big favorites in this match and to win Group B.

"Why would we be the favorites after being inconsistent in qualifying?" Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez told USA Today. "We want to be seen as favorites, but we need to show why on the field."

The value seems to be all over the draw here. France has more talent but can’t be trusted after stretchy warmup matches.

Pick: Draw (+225)

AFL NEWS AND NOTES
AFL On The NFL Network: Tampa Bay at Alabama
By Scott Cooley

Tampa Bay Storm at Alabama Vipers (+1), 8 p.m. ET

This Friday’s Arena Football League matchup on the NFL Network features Southern Division foes in their first ever meeting as the Tampa Bay Storm (5-3 SU, 2-6 ATS) take on the Alabama Vipers (5-4 SU, 5-4 ATS).

Tampa Bay comes into this affair on a three-game winning streak but is just 1-3 ATS on the road this season. The Vipers have won two of their last three outings and have defended home field, going 3-1 SU and ATS in Alabama.

On The Defense

The first team to post 50 points Friday may come away with the victory.

Alabama boasts the second-ranked scoring defense in the league (51.3 ppg) while the Storm surrender the fifth-most points at 53.9 per outing.

After yielding at least 60 points in three of its first four games, Tampa’s defense is starting to take shape. The Storm have held four straight opponents to 50 points or fewer and are 138-41 all time when doing so.

"We're starting to jell as a unit," said defensive back Brandon Hefflin, whose secondary has 20 pass breakups in the last three games. "It took us a little time, but we have some veterans on this team, and their leadership has turned this around.”

Tampa Bay’s defensive line and rushing linebacker combine for 21 years of AFL experience and have recorded 6.0 sacks and a safety in the last two games. Veteran nose guard Tim McGill recorded 11 quarterback pressures last week and caused a key fumble in the game.

"It's similar to back in the day when the Bucs had (Warren) Sapp pressuring the middle and it freed up Simeon Rice to get all those sacks," head coach Tim Marcum said.

Nix That

In Alabama’s come-from-behind victory over the Iowa Barnstormers last week, receiver Alonzo Nix caught the game-winning touchdown with 12.1 seconds left in regulation.

It was Nix’s first game of the season and also his last. The wideout, who Vipers coach Dean Cokinos calls his “money guy”, tore his Achilles’ tendon on the play and will miss the remainder of the season.

"It was a great performance by him to help us get the victory, but at the same time it was a heavy price to pay," Cokinos said.

The Vipers will still be without their top receiver, Michael Johnson, who will miss his fourth consecutive game after being placed on injured reserve. But Bama’s receiving corps is a deep and balanced one with two other receivers hauling in at least 10 touchdowns and recording more than 650 yards this season.

Vipers quarterback Kevin Eakin is four games removed from a high ankle sprain and appears to have fully recovered after completing 34-of-50 passes for 386 yards and six scores last week. But looking back at a quote from Eakin earlier this season, a bettor has to wonder where his commitment level is.

"This is year-to-year for me," said the 28-year-old Eakin. "If there was a different long-term structure or if I was single…being married with a child is different. I can't say what I'm going to do, but I'm trying to enjoy it as long as possible."

Alabama’s kicking unit has been a revolving door in 2010. The Vipers have trotted out four different placekickers and have yet to sign a new one for Friday night’s game. Greg Gunderson was 3-for-3 on PAT attempts last week but he was an emergency kicker signed before the Iowa game and left the team shortly after.

With a higher crossbar and narrower uprights than in the outdoor game, extra points are routinely missed in the AFL and can make a difference from a pointspread perspective.

National Spotlight

This game was not originally scheduled to be on the NFL Network but because Alabama has exceeded expectations this season and was one of the only teams not on the national television slate, the league utilized its flex schedule to showcase this matchup.

"Being on the NFL Network is going to be exciting," Vipers offensive lineman Lorenzo Breland said. "It's not every day we get a nationally-televised game so it'll be special. We're looking for a big crowd and we want to put on a good show."

A “big crowd” in Huntsville, Ala., is relative. While many teams play in NBA or NHL arenas with capacities around 13,000, the Von Braun Center will hold a maximum of 6,200 fans.

One advantage Alabama has at home is curved endzones. Most AFL endzones are constructed in the standard rectangular fashion but a handful of teams use the hockey-style rounded endzones. Visiting receivers are at a disadvantage because they are not accustomed to catching balls in a more confined space.

"Rounded end zones are a defense's best friend," an AFL head coach once said.

Storming Into The South

This game was originally scheduled for Saturday so both teams had one less day to prepare after both played last Saturday.

But because of travel the Storm were afforded one less day of preparation. Tampa Bay practiced Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, had a walk-through Thursday morning at its home arena and then boarded a plane for Alabama that afternoon.

The Storm will not hold a pre-game practice Friday morning, but instead will review their walk-through from Thursday during a team film session.

Hondo

The Metamucils' invincibility in the big Citi was no match for the Hondo kiss of death, which put a halt to their home winning streak at nine and raised the deficit to 885 applings.

Today, he'll close up shop early with what he hopes will be an afternoon delight at Wrigley -- 10 units on Peavy and the Chisox to chew up the Cubs.

Jr. O'Donnell (RedZone Sports) free internet play:

Tampa Bay - 171 blows out the Marlins tonight as JR O's Bonus Play goes to a 10-2 strong Rays team tonight. The Rays are in a nasty mood after the Ugly loss last night and we feel that the Vegas Lines makers have put the Rays at -171 for a solid reason. The Rays are running out J Shields 3.64 ERA who will look to get back in the winners circle tonight. The Fla Marlins will throw A Sanchez who has done well the last few games but has been beat up in the inter-league venue. This is a huge gut play by JR O'S CAMP and the Rays are a strong GUT WINNER tonight. Rays, Rays, Rays BIG TIME tonight!
